Unfortunately we are unable to take female dogs that are in season.

Here in Garlieston there is a sense of space and light that nourishes the spirit, countless rugged bays and cliffs, coastal walks, wildlife to reignite your sense of wonder in nature, in fact an abundance of peace and tranquillity that every break deserves. Nearby Rigg Bay is a tree lined sandy beach suitable for swimming and paddling. There are rock pools for children to enjoy paddling and exploring sea life and for walkers there are pretty coastal walks.

The Cornmill offers an opportunity for a large range of outdoor activities including Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Tuition, Boat Hire and various British Canoe Union Courses for all who enjoy water sports.

The area is ideal for the perfect family holiday also offering a unique blend of relaxing pastimes such as fishing on the river Bladnoch to more energetic activities such as world class mountain biking on the nearby 7 Stanes at Kirroughtree. The 7 Stanes mountain bike trails attract bikers from all over the world with competitions held annually. There are visitor centres at each of these trails with facilities for parking and bike hire. You can even enjoy road biking on the scenic and traffic free roads around the Machar’s area of Dumfries and Galloway.

Time passes slowly here; Garlieston is the quietest of the old Scottish fishing villages. At first the only noise you will hear is the rush of water that used to power the wheel for the mill. Stone circles, ancient roman ruins and relics of early Christianity are all worth finding in this unspoilt and timeless place.
